The 70s are in full flashback this fall, and I’m loving it. Although I wouldn’t describe my style as bohemian, I do like to mix in retro peices. As soon as I saw the bell sleeve blouses appearing in shops, I knew this was going to be one of those pieces for me.
The trick with wearing a blouse like this, which has a lot of volume to it, is to pair it with something fitted on the bottom. Otherwise it can come off looking frumpy or flowerchild-y. As you can see I opted for some distressed denim because I thought it added a bit of an edge to contrast the prim look of the blouse. You could also go for a suede mini to keep the look super 70s or a pair of cigarette trousers for a perfect workday option.
Since this blouse has such great details, I didn’t want to cover it up with a coat or cardigan. So, I opted for a heavy blanket scarf which you can wear like a traditional scarf, drape over your shoulders, or like a poncho. It doesn’t cover up the sleeves, and it still keeps you warm on a crisp fall day.
