It’s been feeling so fall-ish in Dublin for the last week. The leaves have all turned and are beginning to fall, and the temperatures have begun to drop. I find myself needing more coffee to wake up in the morning as the darkness continues to linger longer and longer in the mornings. So it comes time to rotate in the winter wardrobe and rotate out the summer. My wardrobe and dresser are now stuffed full of knits, cashmeres, wools, boucles, furs and of course plaids. It’s time to put away the sandals and bring out the boots. Time for higher necklines and longer hemlines.
This was one of those beautifully crisp and dry fall days in Dublin that’s just begging you to come outside. We went for a walk in the gardens surrounding the Killmainham Royal Hospital. The promenade was gorgeous with all the colored trees and fallen leaves creating a perfect autumn scene. The weather was cool but not too cold, and there was just a light breeze. I didn’t need a heavy coat or thick jacket since we were walking around, so I opted for this light yet warm plaid wrap with my denim jacket tried at my waist in case I got too cold. I styled it with a white mock neck top, midi skirt, and my go-to walking booties. This wrap would also look great over a simple solid dress, or a tee shirt and jeans. It’s a great casual piece, but can easily be dressed up with embellished accessories and some pumps.
